We're Back........

Okay, here is the girls' surprise.  I got us all tickets to go see Wicked.  I was their Hero.  They were so surprised and thrilled.  This was their FIRST Musical/Play.  The plan is to do this on a regular basis.  This Musical was just AWESOME.  The stage settings were incredible, and the singing was unbelievable.  We all agreed this was a fantastic twist on the Wizard of Oz and wondered why the original didn't take this spin.  We had a fantastic time.  We then went to Disneyland/California Adventure for a couple of days and pampered ourselves with rides, food and goodies.  It was great to get away.  I even snuck in an additional two days by going up to Big Bear and scrapbooking with a group of ladies at the Apples Bed and Breakfast.  This has got to be the BEST Bed and Breakfast around.  Everything is decorated adorably (I'm sure I didn't see it all...there was so much) and the FOOD, OMG I can't say enough about the food.  It was so relaxing to just scrapbook and not lift a finger to do anything else.  This is a MUST try for all of you.  Well, back to the routine.  It is good to be Home.

COUNTDOWN TO VACATION...

The girls' and my vacation starts this afternoon. We all can't wait. It is our last HURRAH before school starts next week. I have a surprise planned for them Wednesday evening...they are going to be blown away. I love keeping a secret. The anticipation is so well worth it. Unfortunately Dad is staying home. The 2nd leg of our tour is Disneyland, and he is not a true Disneyland Fan like we are. It is good though, he'll keep our dogs company. We are wrapping up the 'getting ready-last minute details' for school and then off we go.

Happiness Is A Choice

I was reading some of Michael Josephson's stuff online yesterday and something really hit me. Not like I don't already know it, but it is a good reminder for me. It is so easy to get caught up in the cycle of wanting more these days. Here is the thought provoking quote from Abraham Lincoln. He understood that happiness was essentially a way of looking at one’s life.

"A person is generally about as happy as he’s willing to be."

So, we’re more likely to experience happiness if we realize it’s not just getting what we want. It’s learning to want what we get!
